Welcome
Exeter Cemetery District
The Exeter Public Cemetery District owns and operates three public cemeteries serving the communities of Exeter, Farmersville, Lemon Cove, Lindcove, Outside Creek, Yokohl Valley, and surrounding areas. These facilities include Exeter Cemetery in Exeter, Deep Creek Cemetery in Farmersville, and Hamilton Cemetery located near Avenue 310 and Road 204 between Exeter and Woodlake.
The District is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Tulare County Board of Supervisors. Day-to-day operations are managed by a full-time Superintendent and support staff who are responsible for coordinating burial services, maintaining cemetery grounds and infrastructure, assisting families and funeral homes, managing district records, and ensuring the continued operation and upkeep of all district facilities. To better serve the public, the District is available for the scheduling and coordination of burial services six days per week, Monday through Saturday.
The Exeter Public Cemetery District operates independently and does not receive direct operating funds from the County of Tulare, the City of Exeter, or other local government entities. Funding for the District is derived primarily from revenues generated through burial services, plot sales, endowment care contributions, and other cemetery-related services, as well as a limited special district property tax assessment. These funding sources support the District’s daily operations, maintenance of cemetery grounds and infrastructure, and the long-term preservation of its facilities for future generations.
The District is committed to providing respectful, professional, and compassionate service while honoring the memories of those entrusted to its care and preserving its cemeteries for future generations.
The District Board of Directors latest Agenda is available on the Documents page of this website as well as below.
2026 – 708 Board Meeting – Exeter PCD
Important Notice from the Exeter Public Cemetery District : July 7th 2026
Due to recent incidents of vandalism and theft, we have implemented a single entrance for all visitors. Effective immediately, please use the entrance located directly north of the District Office.
During funeral services, all cemetery gates will remain open to provide convenient access for families, guests, and funeral processions.
We are also installing a 24/7 video surveillance system throughout the cemetery to help protect the grounds, memorials, and visitors while preserving the beauty and dignity of the cemetery.
If you notice any suspicious activity, we kindly ask that you report it to the District Office.
All three cemeteries are public cemeteries and we welcome all visitors. However, while visiting, please refrain from driving on and/or parking on the grass; setting up tents or umbrellas; please do not cook food, have BBQs, or any other type of food-centered gathering; do not hire bands or entertainment, or allow a band or other entertainment to perform for free; do not litter or leave food or alcohol on the ground, grass, cement, roads, or grave stones. We acknowledge that everyone’s definition of respect and respectful will vary, but none of the cemeteries are designed, or equipped, to host, for lack of a better term, “parties.” If you would like to have a gathering to honor a particular day, please contact cemetery staff and you will be accommodated as best as possible.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support.
