This week’s Grave of the Week is Betty Mae Metheney. Born in Camp White, Oregon in 1943, Betty passed surrounded by her beloved husband and son in 2021.
As a child, Betty’s family worked in agriculture, and moved back and forth from Oregon, Arizona, California, and Missouri. They finally settled in Exeter where Betty remained for the rest of her life. She attended Exeter High School.
Betty married Lloyd in 1960, and they had two children. Together they ran the Red Barn fruit stand for many years. After selling, Betty loved being a homemaker while Lloyd was employed as an iron worker.
Betty enjoyed travelling and camping. She was a great cook. She also liked jigsaw puzzles and sewing.
Prior to her passing, she and Lloyd celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Lloyd passed two years after Betty.
