This week’s Grave of the Week is Greg Hernandez. Greg was born in Texas in 1958, and passed away in 2009, at 50 years old.
He moved with his family to Farmersville when he was young and attended both Exeter Union High and Mt. Whitney. In 1984, he began a 24-year career with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Hernandez worked in custody, as a hostage negotiator, patrol, narcotics, was a field training officer, and worked in the Sheriff’s Explorer program. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1996.
Outside of work, Greg loved spending time with his daughter. He fished, golfed, and played softball. He was a person who always had a smile on his face. His personality drew people to him, and he was someone everyone loved to be around.
