This week’s Grave of the Week is Lt. Col. Gerald E. Gilmore, US Army, retired. Lt. Col. Gilmore graduated from Ohio University in 1936 and enlisted in 1940. He served in WWII and Korea. He specialized in counterintelligence.
After retiring from service, he worked for a Savings and Loan in Long Beach before moving to Exeter. He was a life member of the Amity Masonic Lodge 473 and the Scottish Rite. He loved to golf and was proud to have scored the first of 11 holes-in-one at the age of 76. He played weekly at the Exeter Golf Course.
Lt. Col. Gilmore lived to the age of 93 and left behind a family who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis.
